Getting Started

Choose a Measuring Method

There are several ways to find your ring size at home. Pick whichever method suits what you have available.

02

Measure an Existing Ring

Place a well-fitting ring flat on a ruler and measure the inner diameter in millimetres from edge to edge. Match the measurement to the conversion chart below.

03

String Method

Wrap a piece of string or dental floss around your finger, mark where it meets, then lay it flat against a ruler and measure the circumference in millimetres.

Step-by-Step

Paper Strip Instructions

The paper strip method gives the most accurate at-home result. Follow these five steps carefully.

How to measure ring size — wrap string around finger, mark where it meets, measure the length with a ruler

The Formula

Length (mm) ÷ π = Diameter (mm)

e.g. 52mm ÷ 3.14 = 16.5mm diameter → UK L½ / US 6

International Sizing

Ring Size Conversion Chart

Match your measurement below. US sizes 6 and 7 are the most common women's sizes. If you fall between two sizes, always choose the larger for comfort.

US / Canada UK / Australia EU / French Inner Diameter (mm) Circumference (mm)
3 F 44 14.1 44.2
3½ G 45½ 14.5 45.5
4 H 47 14.9 46.8
4½ I 48 15.3 48.0
5 J½ 49 15.7 49.3
5½ K½ 50½ 16.1 50.6
6 L½ Popular 52 16.5 51.9
6½ M½ 53 16.9 53.1
7 N½ Popular 54½ 17.3 54.4
7½ O½ 55½ 17.7 55.7
8 P½ 57 18.1 57.0
8½ Q½ 58 18.5 58.3
9 R½ 59½ 18.9 59.5
9½ S½ 61 19.4 60.8
10 T½ 62 19.8 62.1
10½ U½ 63 20.2 63.4
11 V½ 64½ 20.6 64.7
11½ W½ 66 21.0 66.0
12 X½ 67 21.4 67.2

Conversions are close approximations — sizing systems do not align perfectly across regions. EU size = inner circumference in mm. If you are between sizes, always size up. Diameter × 3.14 = circumference.

Expert Advice

Tips for an Accurate Fit

Small factors can shift your ring size by half a size or more. Keep these guidelines in mind for the most reliable result.

01

Measure at End of Day

Fingers swell throughout the day and are at their largest in the evening. Measuring then ensures the ring will remain comfortable at all times of day.

02

Temperature Affects Size

Cold hands can be up to a full size smaller. Always measure when your hands are warm and relaxed — not immediately after coming in from cold weather.

03

Wide Bands Fit Tighter

Rings wider than 6mm cover more skin surface and feel tighter. If you are choosing a wide band, consider going up half a size from your standard measured size.

04

Measure Multiple Times

Take measurements on three different days at different times of day. Average the results to arrive at the most reliable size before confirming your order.

05

Account for Your Knuckle

If your knuckle is noticeably larger than the base of your finger, size toward the knuckle. A well-fitting ring should slide on with gentle resistance, then sit snugly.

06

When in Doubt, Size Up

Choosing between two sizes? Always go with the larger. A ring that is slightly too large can be resized by any jeweller; a ring too small cannot be worn until adjusted.
